Similar to other free dating sites, Bumble relies on the now standard swipe left for no and right for yes format, although there’s one major difference—women send the first message. Bumble’s goal is to empower women and stop men from carelessly mass sending lewd or generic messages to their entire match list. .Free 24 Hour Trial Offer Terms and Conditions. Limit one offer per person. After registration you will receive free access to a standard Zoosk subscription for 24 hours. Zoosk coins must be purchased separately. After your 24 hour trial period expires, you may subscribe at the standard rate for any of Zoosk's paid plans.
So you’re considering the very popular dating website Zoosk, but want to get it for free?
Good for you! I’m glad you’ve decided to take on the rewarding challenge of online dating. As a professional dating coach, I see so many people reject the idea of online dating – yet over 39% of couples have met online.
That being said, the online dating world can be confusing and it’s not always obvious what dating site to choose.
So here is a breakdown on the Zoosk free trial and whether or not it’s a good website for your dating efforts.

How To Sign Up For A Free Trial On Zoosk
If you’ve read my blog before, you know that I pride myself on being the straight up and blunt dating coach. No beating around the bush!
So, I’ll just come out and say that even though you can sign up for free on Zoosk, that doesn’t mean you have access to all the features.
A true free trial, in my opinion, is one where you are allowed to use all the features of the site for free and then after a certain period of time, you have to pay.
Zoosk doesn’t offer this kind of free trial.
In order to get this kind of free trial, you’d need a coupon or promo code. I haven’t seen any promo codes for Zoosk offering a free trial but this could always change.
So, What is A Free Zoosk Account?
Now, even though Zoosk doesn’t offer a full free trial, they still let you sign up for free so you can get an idea of how the site works.
This allows you to see what other members are on the website and if you’d like to message them.
Here is what the Zoosk free account lets you do:
- Create your profile and add your photos
- Set your dating filters and preferences
- Browse other members on the website
The free account does not allow you to read your messages or send messages to other users.
Unlike Tinder, Hinge, OkCupid or Bumble, you can’t really use Zoosk to actually chat and message people without paying.
What Are the Benefits of A Paid Website?
Can I Get Zoosk For Free
As a dating coach, I’ve heard many of my clients frown at the idea of paid dating websites because they believe they can just use other websites for free.
While this is true, the free sites tends to have a lot of fluffy people that are not interested in long-term relationships.
When you have to pay for a dating site, it’s more likely that you have the intention seriously meet someone.
When it comes to Zoosk, I’d say that the matches on there are better than PlentyofFish or Tinder, but not as high-quality as more expensive dating websites like Match.com or even the League.
What Are Zoosk Coins?
Zoosk coins can be purchased and used on the platform, but remember they are purchased ontop of the regular membership fees.
This means you have to pay monthly, and then pay an additional fee if you want to buy coins.
The Zoosk coins allow you to buy virtual gifts to give to potential candidates. These gifts can be roses or a bouquet of flowers.
They are simply little icons that show you are more interested in a special someone than anyone else.
Zoosk coins also allow you to put your profile at the top of the search results and other features like that.
If you are a man and struggling to get matches, these virtual gifts could come in handy, but I would recommend taking new photos and getting your profile re-written over virtual flowers 🙂
If you’re a woman, these Zoosk coins are 100% useless.
That’s because I’m a strong believer in feminine energy when dating. This means taking a step back and letting men lead. Sending them virtual flowers is putting yourself too out there for my taste.

What Does A Zoosk Paid Subscription Include?
The main reason for signing up for a Zoosk paid subscription is the ability to see your messages and to message other people on the platform. You’ll also get access to some canned icebreakers that allow you to easily start conversations.
View Zoosk Profiles Without Registering
The paid subscription doesn’t offer much more than that, but it’s really the only thing you need on a dating website!
How Much Does A Zoosk Subscription Cost?
According to Zoosk’s very own Dating Blog, this is the current cost of subscription:
12 months for $12.49 per month (One payment of $149.88)
6 months for $12.49 per month (One payment of $74.95)
3 months for $19.98 per month (One payment of $59.95)
1 month for $29.95 per month(One payment of $29.95)
Is Zoosk A Good Dating Site For Long-Term Relationships?
Zoosk Dating Reviews Free
Here’s my professional advice on this. If you are looking for something casual, stick to Tinder and PlentyofFish.
If you’re looking for something long-term, stick to Match, Bumble or Hinge.
If you are tired of those options and just want to try something different, try Zoosk.
It also doesn’t hurt to sign up for the free account and just poke around to see if anyone piques your interest. After all, you just need to find one person and this is all over!
While I strongly believe it’s worth it to sign up and check out the website for free, Zoosk just isn’t my favorite when it comes to paying for a website.
Zoosk Backlash
I wouldn’t be doing my part as a dating coach if I didn’t highlight that Zoosk has received backlash for having a lot of fake/spam profiles and for using bots to message users.
While it’s hard to say if they are doing this on purpose, the truth is that the site can feel a bit spammy at times.
I’ve had many clients on there and seen fake profiles, however I’ve also had clients use the site with a lot of success.
If you are good at spotting fake profiles and keeping an eye out for that, you will be fine. If you don’t want to be bothered with it, pay the extra $5 a month and stick with Match.com.
Bottom Line: Is Zoosk Worth It?
So the bottom line on Zoosk is that the free account is definitely worth it. That’s because you can sign up for free and see for yourself if you’re liking the men (or women) on there.
So the free account is 100% worth it.
After that, it’s up to you to decide if you want to pay for it. My suggestion would be to only pay for 1 month at a time, despite the savings discounts that they offer if you sign up for more months.
You can go through a lot of people in the first month and then if you still want to use the site, sign up for a multi-month pacakge.
So in a nutshell, my answer to “is Zoosk worth it?” is simply to try it out and see! You won’t lose anything with the free account and you might just find a really great person on there 🙂

Love your favorite dating coach,
-Lana
You can’t put a price on love… but in the tech age, love can get a little pricey, especially if you’re subscribed to multiple dating sites. So, in the interest of keeping calendars full and money in your wallets, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite dating sites where either messaging is free or a substantial free trial is offered.
For all levels of seriousness, from marriage seekers to pals-with-perks, here are your top choices.
OkCupid
Dating should be a tailored experience—not a feed of hundreds of randomized profiles—at least that’s OkCupid’s philosophy. OkCupid tries to make more meaningful matches for its users by measuring their compatibility with hundreds of multiple choice questions that you can answer at your own leisure. The more questions answered, the more accurate it is. And best of all—it’s free!
Unlike other simpler apps, OkCupid lets you tailor your search to specific features, like religious beliefs, political values, and interests. However, the highest degree of search specificity requires a paid subscription, so be aware of that.
Happn
Love can be unpredictable and natural. A stranger at a bus stop or someone you bumped at a department store could be the love of your life. Although, sometimes you miss your chance. That’s were Happn comes in.
When you cross paths with another Happn user, their profile shows up in your feed. If you both like each other, you match. It’s almost like you didn’t miss each other.
Happn is totally free, but it’s pretty new so the number of daters on may be relatively low depending on where you live. If you’re a doubter of fate, you might be better suited for one of the more popular apps.
Plenty of Fish (POF)
With over 3 million users, Plenty of Fish attracts many catches. Not only is messaging free, but there are some other neat features. You can see who viewed you, send flirts instead of direct messages, and create a favorites list. Plus, the matching algorithm is influenced by your activity. These patterns create data on the types of matches you seek (just in case your criteria of preferred matches differs from the profiles that actually hold your interest).
Tinder
Simple and hassle-free, Tinder is one of the most popular, straightforward dating apps. It takes a quantity over quality approach that’ll give you a good idea of who’s out there.
On Tinder, you can narrow your search according to age and distance, but if you’re looking to trim down by factors like religious or political affiliation you’re on the wrong site. This basic approach maintains the simplicity and straightforwardness of Tinder’s dating culture. So for any picky daters out there, you might prefer a dating site with a more sophisticated matching system.
Bumble
Similar to other free dating sites, Bumble relies on the now standard swipe left for no and right for yes format, although there’s one major difference—women send the first message. Bumble’s goal is to empower women and stop men from carelessly mass sending lewd or generic messages to their entire match list.
Once the woman makes her move, the recipient has 24 hours to respond. If she doesn’t send a message, there’s a time-extend feature that adds another 24 hours to the clock but only once per day. This method prevents slacking, but for those who don’t like being on a clock, Bumble isn’t your dating hive.
In the dating world like in life, I like to say “the best things in life are free.” Finding love is no exception. Every dating site has its own crowd, so choose one that suits your style. Remember: it’s free to try!
